Dec 2021/Jan 2022 by Bob Monteleone Big Llou Johnson has made a living for years doing voiceover work for television and radio spots and since 2008 has hosted on Sirius-XM’s B.B. King’s Bluesville station. In fact, it was original Bluesville program director Bill Wax who convinced Johnson to record a blues album with some of Chicago’s finest blues musicians. This resulted in Big Llou taking home a Blues Music Award in 2013 for Best New Artist for his debut They Call Me Big Llou. READ MO

Backing vocals during the chorus form a nice contrast to the sexy & sultry bass voice of BIGLLOU The exciting and razor-sharp guitar work and the excellent wind section provide the instrumental delights. In the States, Mr. Johnson is not only successful as a singer/songwriter, but also as an actor, speaker, producer and event host. His trademark is certainly his warm and sonorous voice, reminiscent of Barry White, to which women's hearts should probably melt in rows.. Pure good mood! It then becomes bluesy when “Chill On Cold” sounds. The song begins with a strong harp intro, which is joined by a nice old-school keyboard soundscape. With "Let's Misbehave" things continue quite moody. The piano and saxophone parts give the piece a typical bar sound.. READ MO
